Lou The Wellness Robot

Lou The Wellness Robot

Lou is meant to assist in day to day tasks including reading emails, getting the weather, and remembering to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Nariya

Lou utilizes the speaker and keyboard input (which could later change to mic input) in order to assist the user. Currently the robot is able to differentiate between different sections of the day when greeting the user, reminding the user to complete tasks that they have entered. The goal of the robot is to help those with depression or depressive disorders, who could benefit from a little computerized friend to keep them on track throughout the day.

  • I like how it’s sort of like a phone calendar/scheduler, but with vocal output. Like I sometimes get phone notifs, but just couldn’t bother to check and this would really help distinguish between “need to respond” and “could wait for a bit”.

  • What if a servo closed your computer if you had to do something important and were distracted?

  • I like the concept of having an external little bot to give you reminders!

  • This seems really useful, and I would like to have one on my desk like a pet.
