My robot detects barking from my dog during the night so I can check on him.

I used a loudness sensor that has been normalized to my dog’s barking volume to detect whether or not my dog is awake during the night. When the sensor detects barking, it captures and sends a photo of my dog in his crate to my email, plays a recording of my voice to sooth him, and sends me a text via the Twilio API so I can check on him quickly. My robot runs on a continuous loop that sleeps for 5 minutes between each sensor detection to avoid false alarms and a bombardment of phone notifications!
