Research Overview

Rapid expansion of early childhood programs, based on the continued interests of policymakers and the general public, has hastened the need for research on the critical components of early childhood education programs that are related to child outcomes, such as family engagement and teacher professional development. This knowledge is needed to guide the development of new programs and to revise existing initiatives. In our collaborative work, we investigate factors at the level of the child, family, classroom, and community that have been shown to be associated with children’s early school success. In particular, we work to understand these factors within socioculturally diverse communities and contexts, making important contributions to national discussions of early childhood education. We use quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs to contribute new knowledge. Please join us!
