Classroom Technology

The Experimental College works to accommodate the teaching needs of all visiting lecturers so that you and your students can have the best possible learning experience. Almost all classrooms are equipped with technology, but this equipment is shared by many different instructors. Since the technology passes through a multitude of instructors each day, you may find yourself in the situation of equipment malfunctioning. If you get to your class and see that something is not working properly, please do the following:

  • Call the Classroom Support Line at 617-627-0487. This line is staffed by students during the evening hours.
  • Follow up with the ExCollege Program Assistant (PA) at 617-627-3384 about the problem. He will then deal with Classroom Technology to make sure that all problems are properly solved.

Classrooms include the following equipment set-up:

  • Sound system
  • DVD player
  • BluRay player
  • Built-in Computer
  • Port for a Laptop
  • Note: If you intend to use your own laptop, and it’s a Mac, you will likely need an adapter. The ExCollege has Mac adapters for loan. Contact the PA at least 48 hours in advance in order to reserve an adapter for your class.

If your assigned room does not have the necessary equipment for you to carry out your lessons, please get in touch with the PA as soon as possible. Arrangements can be made to either switch your class to a new location or to loan you equipment from the ExCollege.
