Learn how to obtain scientifically relevant data and information for your equine assisted therapy program! This online experience will give you a roadmap for conducting research within your existing programs.
This webinar qualifies for 2 continuing education credits from PATH International.
Topics to be covered:
- Practical considerations to conducting research within your EEA/T program
- Types of EAA/T research and how to collaborate with academic research institutions
- Strategies for successful implementation of research results, using outcomes assessment to increase improvement in your clients
- Special considerations related to research with at-risk populations will be discussed
Speakers:
Megan Mueller, Ph.D., research assistant professor at the Cummings School of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, and Associate Director of the Tufts Institute for Human-Animal Interaction. Dr. Mueller holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in child study and human development, and has extensive experience conducting research within animal-assisted interventions, including EAA/T.
Leslie McCullough, Ph.D., MSSW, LCSW, assistant professor of social work at Washburn University. She has been actively involved with animals in counseling settings for over 30 years. She participated in the early development of the Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association, and has extensive experience conducting PATH workshops and training, in addition to conducting research on equine-assist therapy.
