Welcome! I am a 6th-year PhD Candidate in the Economics and Public Policy program jointly organized by the Department of Economics and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy  at Tufts University. My main areas of interest are Development Economics, International Economics and Applied Microeconomics.

My primary research agenda seeks on understanding how globalization and industrial policy affect structural transformation in low income economies, with a specific focus on manufacturing employment. My second research agenda explores the role of state capacity, specifically legal and fiscal capacity, in promoting development. Lastly, I am passionate about investigating the deeper determinants of development, with a particular interest in the connection between culture, particularly religion, and institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.

I hold a BA in economics from Université Protestante au Congo, a diploma in public administration from Ecole Nationale d’Administration and a MA in policy economics from Williams College. I previously worked on issues of agricultural and rural development for the Office of the Prime Minister in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

I am on the 2022-23 job market.
