Exhibit/Environment/Scenic Designer
Luci Creative is seeking an Exhibit/Environment/Scenic Designer to work on Museum Exhibits and Corporate Experiential Environments. This position will report to and work closely with the Creative Director and the Director of Strategy + Design. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of creative environments and all areas relative to Exhibit/Environmental Design.
Essential Job functions include but are not limited to:
• Working with clients and co-workers in a highly creative process and clearly communicate design concepts and development as a whole
• Engaging in the complete planning processes and ideation sessions with clients and the Luci team.
• Working with the team to establish design criteria and goals.
• Responsible for managing and overseeing all areas of the project including budget, scheduling, and work flow
• Taking a project from preliminary research to opening, and manage the design to fabrication process.
• Effectively manage a project team and maintain a harmonious environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and regularly with the graphic design team
• Illustrate ideas and solutions via hand-sketching and rendering, 3D modeling and rendering, Cad design and construction documents.
• Utilize expert and creative museum interactive development skills, both hand-on and software/UI driven.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
• 4-8 years overall related experience in the field
• Have an excellent grasp of work flow and scheduling
• Solid understanding of graphic concepts and applications in environments
• Proven capability to work in a variety of client environments simultaneously, such as museum exhibits and corporate experiences
• Excellent communication skills with respect for the team
• Excellent skills in creating and detailing museum interactives
• Able to work with software designers and media producers to communicate goals and outcomes for interactives
• Expert in Sketchup Pro 8, AutoCad/LT 2014, V-Ray and/or Podium
• Excellent hand rendering and sketching skills
• Fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Project, OneNote, Word and Excel
• Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
• Entertainment design experience a plus
• Lighting design experience is also a plus!
