Our History
The Poincaré Institute for Mathematics Education was created thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation Math and Science Partnership program, awarded in 2010 to Tufts University Departments of Mathematics, Education, and Physics, as well as TERC, and partner school districts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Over the years, the courses were developed and improved, taking into account teachers’ and districts’ views and needs.
