Fall 2025
Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is a race across the Australian continent from Darwin to Adelaide, spanning 3022 km or almost 1900 miles. Our goal is to compete in the Challenger class, which is a time-trial race spanning over five days. This is the most difficult solar car race in the world, but from the people who have reviewed our progress – MIT’s team, professors in our school, people who have led Australian solar car teams- we are confident that we can not only finish this challenge but be competitive. Our main barrier to entry is financing, as we will have to fly members of our team and our vehicle halfway around the world.
