Are you interested in participating in the Teen & Dog Study?

What is this study about?
Our goal is to learn more about how pet dogs can help support teenagers cope with social challenges.

Who can participate?
Teenagers (aged 13-17 years old) and their parent/guardian may be eligible if your family has a pet dog and lives in the United States.

What will we ask you to do?
Participating parent-teenager pairs will be asked to complete one 20-minute survey each, every year for four years (a total of 4 surveys over 4 years).

If parent-teenager pairs complete all surveys, they may each be eligible to receive up to $80 in e-gift cards over the four years to your choice of Amazon or Uber/UberEats.

All surveys are virtual and can be completed online.

We may also contact you about participating in other optional parts of the study (additional compensation provided), including:

  • A virtual interview with researchers about your/your teenager’s relationship with their dog
  • Your teenager reports on their daily activities and wears a wristband (similar to a FitBit or Apple Watch) that collects activity information.
