Alexander Tsai, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and Honorary Lecturer at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda. He has received top mentorship awards from Harvard and Mass General and is a highly sought after research mentor for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at Boston University, Harvard, and MIT. Through his research, he uses econometric, epidemiological, and qualitative methods to explicate the linkages between structural violence, social policy, and population health in Uganda and South Africa. His U.S. domestic research program examines population mental health in the context of structural drivers such as immigration policy and racial disparities in police use of deadly force.
