Molly is a fifth-year graduate student from New Hampshire working towards a PhD in Chemistry. Prior to joining the Utz lab in 2020, they spent a handful of years doing inorganic synthesis research but have since discovered a love for pchem. They maintain Chamber 2 and are studying alkane reactivity on RhCu single-atom alloys. Outside of the lab, Molly enjoys cooking, reading, and playing video games.

Yuxuan is a fifth-year graduate student from Changchun, China working towards a PhD in Chemistry. Before joining the Utz lab in 2020, he did research in catalysis and graduated from Peking University. He likes singing, playing games and photography after working in lab.

Matt is a fourth-year graduate student working towards a PhD in Chemistry. After working at a title company in the DC area for several years, he returned to school full time at the University of the District of Columbia, where he received a B.S. in Chemistry in 2020. Before joining the Utz lab in 2021, he spent a year investigating the nanoparticle content of silica and titania food additives through an ORISE fellowship at the FDA. He maintains Chamber 1 and is studying small molecule reactivity on various metal single crystals. Outside of the lab, he enjoys baking, birding, and hiking with his wife.

Jessica is a third-year graduate student in the Utz Group from Belmont, Massachusetts working towards a PhD in Chemistry. She graduated from Lindenwood University in 2022 with experience in computational research exploring the energetic properties of molecules through programmed simulations. Outside of the lab, some of her hobbies include playing rugby and trying new coffee shops.
