Lab 3

Bed Leveling and Patient Data Extraction Using Slicer

This lab had two parts. The first part was learning how to level the printer prior to initiating a print. If bed leveling is off then print will likely not be successful since there is an optimal distance between print bed and extruder. We leveled each corner of the printer by adjusting its height and using a piece of paper to ensure the level was correct.

The second part of this lab was focused on extracting patient data and then using 3D Sllicer to transform this data to a printable piece. The data showed deterioration of bone so the printed piece would replace this area. We went through loading data into Slicer, cropping, creating label maps, building the model, and saving the model.
