Interested in joining the Cognitive Development Lab at Tufts University?  We are looking for motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join our lab next semester!

Graduate Students: Professor Muentener will be reviewing applications for students interested in joining the lab in Fall 2025.  Ideal candidates will likely have an undergraduate degree in psychology or cognitive science, as well as research experience related to cognitive development.  The lab is broadly interested in conceptual development, with a  current focus on early causal learning, the impact of language on causal reasoning, and early causal theories of social-related behavior.  We are also interested in the links between causal exploration, language acquisition and early STEM learning. Undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs): RAs are expected to commit 10 hours per week working in the lab and will gain first-hand experience with all aspects of the research process.  These tasks include, but are not limited to: recruitment of child participants, creating stimuli for new studies, running research studies, coding and analyzing data, presenting current findings, and interacting with families.  Research is run on campus and at the Museum of Science, Boston. Specifically, we seek students who are hard working, outgoing, and excited to interact with children and their families.  Prior experience in research or in working with children and caregivers is preferred.  Given that training to conduct cognitive development research can take some time, we prefer RAs to commit to 2 semesters in the lab.  We typically conduct research over the weekend, so availability during Saturday or Sunday is expected.  Research Assistants begin as volunteers and can receive academic credit after one semester of experience.
