What is it?
This program allows early-career science and engineering students to learn how to design medical devices for developing country contexts, using scenarios from sub-Saharan Africa. Participants will work in teams in this hands-on workshop to design a product for limited resource settings with coaching from international mentors.
There is no application fee and no participation fee.
Who can attend?
Undergraduate students in STEM programs at a college or university, interested in learning more about design processes, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, and global health. No design or international experience is necessary. This is an interdisciplinary event and any undergrad enthusiastic to learn and contribute to teamwork is welcome to apply.
Logistics of the event:
- There is no direct cost associated with participating in this program
- Program will run from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2024
- All activities will take place at Tufts University
- A morning snack and lunch will be provided each day for all participants
