Mr. Talapala was born in the year 1965. he obtained an MBA (Finance) from an Indian University. He is married, and his wife works for a commercial bank in Mumbai. He has one 18 year-old son who is pursuing his engineering degree. Mr. Talapala joined the Reserve Bank as a direct officer in the year 1991. He was progressively promoted to the rank of General Manager in the year 2015. In a period spanning over 22 years, he worked in various departments like Administration, Department of Banking Supervision, Department of Currency Management, Rural Planning and Credit Department, Banking Department, etc. At present, he is posted in Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD). Three divisions of FIDD, viz., Financial Inclusion Davison (FID), Financial Literacy (FL) and Lead Bank Scheme and Area Studies (LBAS) work with him.
