Emma Haiyambo is currently the Director of Strategic Communications and Financial Sector Development at the Bank of Namibia (BoN). Her past roles include Deputy Director for Financial Sector Development (2012-2016), Financial Inclusion (2011), Policy Research and Analysis (2008-2010), Statistics and Publications (2005-2007), Senior Economist (2003-2004), and Economist (2000-2002) at BoN. Before joining BoN, she was Trade Policy Analyst at Ministry of Trade and Industry (1999) and Economist for National Accounts at National Planning Commission (1996-1999). She has also served the Namibian public sector in other capacities as a Board Member for the Development Bank of Namibia (2010-current), Roads Authority (2004-2009), Namibia Press Agency (2005-2010), representative of Bank of Namibia on Board of Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC) of UNAM (2009-2010), and Trustee of Bank of Namibia Provident Fund (2012-current). She is a holder of a PhD Degree in Development Finance (Stellenbosch University), MSc Financial Economics (University of London), Masters in International Business (Polytechnic of Namibia), Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Economics (University of London), Bachelor of Economics (University of Namibia) and National Diploma in Public Administration (Technikon Namibia).
