Md. Nazmul Hasan is a professional and seasoned banker with over 18 years of experience in the banking industry. Mr. Hasan has working experience in different departments of different local and multinational banks.
Nazmul is currently working as Head of Agent Banking at BRAC Bank Limited, one of the leading private commercial banks in Bangladesh. He is working towards financial inclusion by setting up agent banking outlets to ensure modern banking services to the people who are out of banking facilities till the last mile of the country by identifying potential areas with low penetration, launching new services as per customer demand and developing technology as required.
The concept of Agent Banking was introduced with the objective of financial inclusion and Mr. Md. Nazmul Hasan was involved in this initiative from the very beginning in Bangladesh and has experience in successfully launching Agent Banking activities in three banks, Bank Asia Limited, Mutual Trust Bank Limited and BRAC Bank Limited in Bangladesh. He is very enthusiastic and interested in this subject and wants to do more for the rural community especially with the ambition of every citizen of Bangladesh to have at least one bank account.
Nazmul has commenced social safety-net payment through agent banking channel with an intention to ensure timely collection of payment by the actual beneficiaries in the remote location. He is also working for cashless ecosystem for supply chain, financial transaction support for NBFIs, MFIs and NGOs, financial literacy & customer awareness workshop and banking at customer doorstep beyond the banking hour etc.
Md. Nazmul Hasan actively participates in the Central Bank dialogs for the improvement of policy and regulations as per the customers’ needs.
