Dardan Fusha

Director, Payment Systems, Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK)

The Department for Payment Systems is responsible for the operation, oversight and development of payment systems in the Republic of Kosovo. Mr. Fusha joined the CBK in 2006, initially as a Bank Examiner in the Banking Supervision Department. He continued his engagement for the development of financial institutions supervision regulatory framework as the Head of Regulations Division from 2012 to 2017. In April 2017, he was assigned to his current role as the Director of Payment Systems Department. Mr. Fusha was elected from the SWIFT users group in Kosovo as the Chairperson of the SWIFT Committee. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Prishtina, and master’s degree in Law and Finance from the Institute of Law and Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He has led many projects for the advancement of financial sector legal framework in Kosovo. Currently, he has a leading role in the World Bank Remittances and Payments Program, which strives to increase access to and the usage of bank accounts through introducing transaction accounts, as well as to further develop the electronic payment instruments through the improvement of regulatory framework and through increasing the efficiency of local retail payments and international remittances.
