Veny Tamarind is actively engaged in financial inclusion development.  She is now involved in projects to formulate policy recommendation to create synergy for two regulations for branchless banking. At Bank Indonesia, she is involved in formulating implementation strategy in the dual policies of electronification and financial inclusion to reach the unbanked people through payment systems that will also lead to financial services. Her project on promoting noncash transactions in the transportation sector, especially toll roads, has accelerated the use of electronic money in Indonesia. She is involved in the development of digital financial services to reach the unbanked.  Her main focus is on creating sustainable business models that will integrate a broader ecosystem for noncash transactions. Ms. Tamarind formulates the business strategy for Islamic Financial Inclusion through pilot projects in Islamic boarding schools as part of agent banking and influences to introduce DFS from the non-bank provider to the Muslim community in Indonesia. She is also involved in formulating the business model for remittances for migrant workers in terms of digital onboarding to use remittance services through account transfers.
