Ann Valery Victor Metellus
Financial Inclusion Analyst, Unit of Financial Inclusion, Bank of the Republic of Haiti
After finishing high school in 2005, Ann moved to the Unites States of America in order to pursue her studies. In 2009, she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance and a Master of Business Administration in 2012. While in the United States, she acquired professional experiences within diverse companies doing finance and management related tasks. In 2012, she decided to come back to her motherland because she believed that Haiti could benefit more from her expertise than New York. She joined the Bank of the Republic of Haiti in June of the same year, and now has over 5 years of experience within the bank. At first, she was attached to the International Affairs Department in the Foreign Exchange Service of the central bank and was working on other economic development projects as well. In that sense, she was also part of the team to elaborate the National Strategy of Financial Inclusion with the collaboration of the World Bank. In 2014, the financial inclusion committee, which she was part of, was thrilled to launch the strategy. To better coordinate the implementation of the strategy, in August 2017, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti created the Unit of Financial Inclusion. Since 2017, she has been a part of that unit.
