Nabila Okino is a Policy Analyst at the Financial Policy and Regulation Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Her role includes appraising applications for the creation of Microfinance Banks (MFBs) in Nigeria, by ensuring that the proposed MFBs comply with extant policies, guidelines and regulations. She assesses existing policies, identifies gaps and provides recommendations on diverse financial policy issues. With a background in law and International Human Rights, Nabila is keen on exploring how access to financial services can tackle social-economic challenges and how they can provide ease to people in rural communities, the less privileged, women and other historically disadvantaged groups. She holds an LLM in International Human Rights and Practice from the University of York, UK and is a recipient of a postgraduate scholarship from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK.
