Roland Kwabena Avenyo-Addico is the Regional Manager at the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) in Tema, bringing a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors. His expertise includes regulation, investment, risk management, and social policy, with a strong focus on pension and retirement management within the financial sector, particularly in the informal sector.
With over 12 years at the NPRA, Roland is committed to creating and implementing programs that integrate the underserved informal workforce into the financial ecosystem. He has successfully coordinated support from the World Bank and SECO, which advocate policies that utilize technology to improve coverage in these markets.
His career path at the NPRA has included roles in the Regulations Directorate as well as Planning, Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation, and he currently oversees the operations of the Tema Regional Office.
Roland holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with Political Science from the University of Ghana and a Master’s in Funds and Portfolio Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. He is a certified Compliance Professional and a member of the Global Academy of Finance and Management. Additionally, he has completed a certificate in Fintech and Regulatory Innovation from the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School.
