Grivines Omondi Peter is a Payment Systems Analyst at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) with over six years of experience in digital financial services and financial inclusion policy development, combining technical expertise with a strategic focus on enhancing payment systems and driving financial inclusion across Africa.
Grivines has played a pivotal role in key national initiatives, including the 2024 FinAccess Survey, development of the National Payments Strategy 2022–2025, and the migration of Kenya’s Real-Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) to ISO 20022 standards. He is currently involved in developing Kenya’s Fast Payment System, advancing the Consumer Protection Framework for Financial Services, and reviewing the National Payment System Act and Regulations.
Regionally, he has contributed to the operations of the East African Payment System (EAPS) and the Regional Payment and Settlement System (REPSS), as well as supporting the integration of the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) with Kenya’s financial institutions. Grivines actively participates in regional and continental policymaking forums, including the COMESA Committee of Governors, the East African Community Monetary Affairs Committee, and the Association of African Central Bank Governors, championing collaboration to promote financial inclusion and innovation.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Sociology, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is pursuing a Master of Economics (Cooperation & Human Development). With additional certifications in Fintech and Digital Finance, Grivines is dedicated to driving innovation and expanding financial inclusion across Africa.
