Fatima joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after years of working in the private sector as a commercial banker. Since joining the CBN, she has served on different committees and initiatives that helped promote financial Inclusion and other developmental issues in Nigeria; she served on the Interdepartmental Committee on National Strategy on Financial Inclusion and championed the development of a Guideline for Agent Banking in Nigeria. She also participated in efforts to strengthen banking in Nigeria; and worked on the Implementation Committee for Nigeria Banking Sector Consolidation, Contingency Planning Framework on Global Financial Crisis on the Nigerian banking System and the revised framework for Discount Houses in Nigeria. Fatima is a qualified UK Chartered Accountant, she hold a BSc. Business Administration, ABU Zaria and MBA from Aston University in the UK.Outside of professional interests, she enjoys traveling, reading and participates in a variety of civic and cultural organizations. An important aspect of her life is family, her husband and children.
