Laura Karina Ramos Torres is Director for Access to Financial Services at the National Banking and Securities Commission, in Mexico. She is in charge of the Financial Inclusion Reports’ coordination. This report contains the annual basis of financial access and usage information, it means, supply-side data. She also participated in designing the first National Survey for Financial Inclusion (ENIF 2012) last year, and she also coordinated two publications: on the first one, it is revealed the process follow to prepare the Survey in Mexico, and on the second one, it is presented the descriptive analysis of the obtained results. She participated as event organizer staff in the Third AFI Global Policy Forum held in the Riviera Maya in September 2011, which provided the framework to create the CONAIF, and where the Maya Declaration was signed. Laura began her career as a Sr. Risk Analyst at GE Capital Bank in Mexico City where she made the mortgage loan portfolio management and as a Marketing Analyst she led, designed and implemented cross-selling processes to offer credit card to both auto and mortgages customers. Laura holds a Telecommunications Engineer degree from Mexico’s National Autonomous University (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) and master in Economics from the Mexico´s Autonomous Institute of Technology (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, ITAM).Laura and her husband became parents of a beautiful girl in May last year.
