As countries across the globe crack down on immigration, migrants and refugees are forced to uncover new travel routes in search of safety and stability. The Other Migration examines the journey of migrants from Africa and Asia as they travel across the world to South America and up through Central America. Part one of this three-part series examines who is traveling on this migration route and why.
About the video creator
Charlie Bentley graduated with a Fletcher MALD in 2019. Prior to Fletcher, he lived and worked with deaf communities in countries experiencing crisis, which later led to a career as a disability and poverty social worker. Charlie is a Watson Fellow, Fulbright recipient, USAID Payne Fellow, and Bellingcat-trained investigative journalist. He is now embarking on a career as a Foreign Service Officer with USAID.
