Fall 2016 Editorial Intern [Minnesota Historical Society, St. Paul, MN]
Project Summary: The MNHS Editorial Intern will assist the journal and book publishing staff in the areas of editorial research, fact checking, production editing, photo research, marketing, and administration. We offer an exciting opportunity to work with veteran staff willing to share their knowledge of the book and magazine publishing industry, and also provide unique and independent projects. The intern will be working in an office environment with a mix of computer and non-computer related work.

Ideal Degrees: History, American Studies, English, journalism or communications majors preferred; other liberal arts programs considered.
Student Qualifications: The ideal intern candidate should have an interest in publishing; strong writing, research, and communication skills, excellent organizational skills; aptitude and interest in social media/marketing; and the demonstrated ability to work independently. Experience with Microsoft Office and the Google software suite required. Additional materials required: Writing and/or editing sample of 10-20 pages |
