Description:
Interns at Design Museum Boston are provided with some of the most unique experiences one can receive as a student. Interns play a vital role in the success of the organization and take a hands on role in an environment that is fast-paced and very public facing.Design Museum Boston is seeking Event Coordinator intern to join our team this summer and assist us in planning, designing, developing and executing high quality educational and social events. Design Museum Boston is a distributed museum, meaning we don’t have a single physical location — we plan events in unique locations all over the city to be as accessible and interesting as possible. Our events need to be well-planned because we’re always in different spaces, collaborating with different people — they also need to educate and delight our audience. The Event Coordinator intern will tackle challenges at multiple levels that are specific to Design Museum Boston’s unique approach to delivering educational content.
Intern Responsibilities:

  • Flexible 24 hr work week schedule
  • Intern must work on location at Design Museum Boston HeadQuarters @ 50 Milk St., Boston
  • Intern must work on own personal computer and bring to the offices (Design Museum Boston will provide intern with any necessary computer programs)
  • Professional correspondence, contacting presenters, venues, and vendors
  • Go on site-visits in Boston area (all accessible to public transit)
  • Managing event web tools such as Eventbrite
  • Data entry
  • Hands on at events, able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to solve problems, work independently and in groups
  • Able to take feedback, willingness to learn new skills
Qualifications:
Experience necessary:

  • Event production experience, event management
  • Organizing & maintaining schedules
  • Have worked on multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
  • Ability to troubleshoot & solve problems on the spot!
  • Graphic design a plus!
  • Experience working at a start-up or non-profit is suggested but not required
  • Experience working with many different types of people!

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a self-starter, able to pick up parts of a project and contribute
  • Is a collaborator, able to fit into a team and boost its effectiveness
  • Is adaptable, able to pivot and move forward with new constraints
  • Is a planner, able to anticipate needs and put detailed plans in place for the future

Qualifications:Knowledge of the following tools/processes required:Familiar with Adobe CreativeSuite (in particular Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, Googledocs, Dropbox

Description:
The intern will be managing MASS MoCA’s digital assets by sorting, indexing, and uploading materials of visual and performing arts.  You will be documenting work in both MASS MoCA performing and visual arts, including artist interviews and work-in-progress rehearsals.  You will be digitizing all of MASS MoCA’s archives, art fabrication and installation and producing short videos for utilization on MASS MoCA’s website and other outlets.  You will be using Final Cut Pro X, and will be working in cooperation with Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Information Technology to manage MASS MoCA’s large video works, both video archival and new material, in our Digital Asset Management system – Resource Space. You are not required to have a driver’s license.
Qualifications:
