We have received a special invitation to the reception of the USS Constitution Museum’s 37th Annual Model Show Reception that we would like to pass on to you! This invitation was shared with us by Brian Miskell, who completed the Tufts Museum Studies certificate in 2014. Annual Ship Model Show Reception

Please join us on Tuesday, December 15 from 5 – 7pm for the USS Constitution Museum’s annual Ship Model Show Reception to celebrate the Masters of Miniature.

The 37th Annual USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild Model Show features 75 exquisite ship models and a number of marine paintings by members of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA).

Meet the masters of miniature and the ASMA artists in person and listen to what Robin A. Neill, who built a model of the Liberty ship Jeremiah O’Brien, has to say about those famous Liberty Ships.

The reception is from 5 pm until 7 pm at the USS Constitution Museum, feel free to bring a friend.

 

Please note light reception fare will be available. Discounted parking available at the Nautica Garage; please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

The Model Ship Show is no up and running through January 2nd. Masters of Miniature features over 50 model ships, handmade by modern model makers, and each one different from the last. You can either wander through and check out the ships on your own time, or you can check out the Constitution Museum’s calendar for special programs.

Graphic Design Internship

Description:
Graphic Design: Intern assists in day-to-day tasks of MASS MoCA’s in-house design studio, both digital and physical, working closely with the design, curatorial and marketing departments. Working directly with the Creative Director and Senior Designer, this position is 1/3 graphic designer, 1/3 production, and 1/3 jack- of-all-trades. Projects include (but not limited to) production and installation of vinyl exhibition and way finding signage, weekly advertisement design, digital archive management, vendor contact, daily museum photography, upkeep of website components, and general studio tasks. Intern should demonstrate enthusiasm, stamina, and willingness to work with a team. Excellent knowledge of Adobe CS4 or higher (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) required, with working to advanced knowledge of Flash. Excellent knowledge of digital photography hardware and intermediate photo editing skills.You are not required to have a driver’s license.
Qualifications:
MASS MoCA seeks full-time interns for various departments. Spend any season in the culturally rich, naturally beautiful Berkshires, while gaining invaluable professional experience in the arts. Paid interns are given $100/week stipend and free housing within a block of the complex (cable, internet, and utilities included). Internship dates: January 11th, 2016 – May 23rd, 2016.
