Associate Preparator [deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Lincoln, MA]

The Associate Preparator working under the supervision of the Head Preparator is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all art in the museum building(s) including, special exhibitions, traveling shows, educational galleries/installations, and other projects as assigned by the Curator and Registrar. Working with the Head Preparator, other responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of all art in the Sculpture Park. Additionally, both the Head Preparator and Associate Preparator are responsible for the permanent collection, including its care, transport, framing, installation. This work occurs inside and outside the museum building and campus. The Associate Preparator works closely with the Curators, Registrar, Educators, artists, contractors and others as required to organize, plan, and execute exhibitions, artist installations, and educational projects. Qualified candidates will hold a B.A. or B.F.A. and have a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Desired experience may include rigging and installation of large scale outdoor sculpture, handling and installation of 2D artwork as well as experience with museum lighting and AV installations. Manual skills and trade experience is highly desired. Candidates must also be organized, detail oriented, flexible, able to independently prioritize work as well as able to work effectively as part of a team. The physical requirements for this position include the ability to lift 75 pounds and access deCordova’s thirty acres of hilly outdoor terrain and indoor facilities. Director of Marketing [Adirondack Museum, Blue Mountain Lake, NY]

Job Description: The Adirondack Museum is currently seeking an entrepreneurial marketing professional to develop, manage, and implement marketing strategies that will result in audience growth, increased visibility, and sustained philanthropic giving. The incumbent will be responsible for developing marketing strategies utilizing a combination of traditional and new media marketing techniques to promote the museum’s exhibitions, programs, and events, with focus on the 2017 new exhibition and celebration of the museum’s 60th anniversary. The Director of Marketing will work with the contracted marketing firm, Eric Mower Associates, to refresh the institutional brand, redesign the website, and other initiatives to help introduce the new visitor experiences to the public. The Director of Marketing will report to the Executive Director and supervise 1-2 employees. S/he will be a member of the senior management team. The salary is competitive and benefits are excellent. Job Requirements: Candidates must have 5-10 years’ experience as a marketing professional (preferably with a museum, cultural organization, or other not-for-profit organization), and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or Public Relations. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience working with websites to reach audiences and the ability to work effectively with various forms of media. Director of Development [Historic Newton, Newton, MA]

Historic Newton (www.historicnewton.org) is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and motivated Development Director to successfully manage a comprehensive fund-raising program. The Development Director must be organized, strategic, and able to generate support through membership, corporate and major gifts, annual appeal, grants, and fundraising events. Marketing and Communications Manager [Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, VT]

Shelburne Museum, a spectacular collection of fine art, folk art, and Americana housed within 39 buildings on a beautifully landscaped 45 acre campus in Shelburne Vermont, is seeking a new Marketing and Communications Manager. This important position is responsible for developing the Museum’s broad marketing strategy and implementing plans using both traditional and digital marketing to increase Museum visibility and vistorship locally, nationally, and internationally. The incumbent will conduct market data analysis and evaluation to determine effectiveness of marketing strategy and adjust when necessary. This is a collaborative position and requires the ability to work with multiple departments and a variety of stakeholders while serving as project coordinator for all marketing collateral, products and promotions, seeing that schedules are set and deadlines maintained. The MCM also supervises the graphic designer and oversees the website. Candidates must have marketing and management experience in a similar setting.
