Mason and Mills pass their preliminary exams!
Congrats to graduate students Katie Mason and Joshua Mills for passing their preliminary exams. They had to give an hour-long seminar on topics related, but not directly relevant to their eventual thesis work. Katie discussed the neutrino physics one can learn using observations of neutrinos from supernova. Joshua discussed the search neutrino-less double beta decay and what its observation would tell us about the fundamental properties of the neutrino.
