Biden orders Justice Dept. to end use of private prisons
During President Joe Biden’s first week in office, he took a very positive step in ordering the department of Justice to end its reliance on private prisons. The order to end the reliance on privately-run prisons directs the attorney general to NOT RENEW Justice Department contracts with privately operated criminal detention facilities. According to Biden – “This is the first step to stop corporations from profiting off of incarceration.” This to America is on a step in making America racially equitable.
