Mission Statement
Tufts Society of Latinx Engineers and Scientists (S.O.L.E.S.) seeks to help its members achieve academic success, create networking and provide resources for professional development. Through workshops and community events, S.O.L.E.S. provides opportunities to engage and have fun with other students from similar backgrounds, and work together to give back to our community by exposing elementary and middle school underrepresented students to STEM fields.

We are affiliated with (MAES) and soon will be recognized by the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the Society of Advancing Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) .
SOLES Networking Night 2019
Networking Event
This year, SOLES welcomed Sensata, Draper, Mitre, Bose, Arbor Biotechnologies, and many other companies for an evening of networking with the Tufts community! Through talking with company representatives, students gained valuable insights into these companies, learned about potential career pathways, and received helpful career and academic advice. The companies represented spanned the computer science, graduate, biotechnology, sustainability, consumer product, R&D, and engineering sectors.
Trip to Cape Cod
Bonding Event
SOLES visited Cape Cod on Veteran’s Day this year! Despite chilly weather, the group enjoyed bonding activities and site seeing at The National Seashore, Provincetown, and Plymouth.
