Classroom Technology

The Experimental College works to accommodate the teaching needs of all visiting lecturers so that you and your students can have the best possible learning experience. Almost all classrooms are equipped with technology, but this equipment is shared by many different instructors. Since the technology passes through a multitude of instructors each day, you may find yourself in the situation of equipment malfunctioning. If you get to your class and see that something is not working properly, please do the following:

  • Call Tufts Technology Services (TTS) at 617-627-3376 to report the issue. The TTS team can page an on-call technician to help you. This can take anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Follow up with Joseph about the problem.
  • Finally, if you anticipate having trouble navigating classroom equipment, contact Tufts Technology Services and schedule with a technician to be at your class. They can give you a tutorial and get you started. Ideally, give TTS at least two weeks notice.

Most classrooms include the following equipment set-up:

  • Sound system
  • Projector
  • DVD player
  • BluRay player
  • Built-in Computer
  • Port for a Laptop

Note: If you intend to use your own laptop, and it’s a Mac, you will likely need an adapter. The ExCollege has Mac adapters for loan. Contact the PA at least 48 hours in advance in order to reserve an adapter for your class.

For a complete listing of technology in all classrooms, please click here. You will need your Tufts username (UTLN) and password to login. If your assigned room does not have the necessary equipment for you to carry out your lessons, please get in touch with the PA as soon as possible. Arrangements can be made to either switch your class to a new location or to loan you equipment from the ExCollege.
