Parking Regulations

All cars parked regularly on campus are required to be registered with the Campus Police. There is little off-campus parking, so we encourage you to apply for a campus parking permit. Applicants must fill out a registration form and present a valid driver’s license, a current Tufts ID, and the vehicle’s state registration. Permits can be purchased directly through the Campus Police, 419 Boston Avenue at the lower level of the parking structure, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m, Monday-Friday. As of the printing of this manual, the reduced cost for a part-time faculty parking permit is $73 and checks are payable to the “Trustees of Tufts College.” You will receive a decal sticker to place on your car window, allowing you to park in any faculty parking area. If you would like to have access to the parking garage, the Parking Office will issue a separate “proximity card” providing you access to the garage at no extra cost.

Getting to Tufts

If you are coming by subway, take the Red Line to Davis Square. Exit on the College Avenue side. You may take the #94 or #96 bus or follow along College Avenue until you reach the Tufts campus (about a 15 minute walk). In addition, the Campus Shuttle travels throughout the campus and to Davis Square. It runs during the day and evening on a regular schedule, while classes are in session. The pickup point at Davis is across from the Holland Street portion of the Davis station. The New England Conservatory of Music (NEC)/Museum School (MFA) Shuttle travels from Cohen Auditorium at Tufts to the NEC and the MFA in Boston. For more information and the most current shuttle schedule, please call the Department of Public Safety at 617-627-3030.
