Patron

Patron Yemery is a Congolese refugee with a hopeful story of grit and determination. At the age of 16, Patron fled his hometown of Bukavu, Congo with his mother and 9 siblings in tow, after the rebel occupation of 2004 threatened his father’s life and his family’s wellbeing. Today, Patron lives in Lowell, Massachusetts, where he founded a community center aimed at fostering belonging among newcomers and providing support for other refugees like him. Produced, directed, and edited by Ron Wyman.
