Industrial Symbiosis and Urban Agglomeration

February 20, 2013 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Using industrial ecology methods such as material flow analysis and life cycle analysis, designers can be enriched by data analyses that help them to understand material flows in the urban context. For the student who seeks to further engage in urban systems theory, Professor Chertow’s work is an intriguing model. Her projects include material flow analysis on island ecology, Industrial Symbiosis, and other topics in systems theory and urban metabolism.

Marian Chertow is a Professor of Industrial Environmental Management, Director of the Program on Solid Waste Policy, and Industrial Environmental Management Program at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
