From the Better Future Project: We’ve set a “people’s deadline”: S. 1225, the fossil fuel divestment bill, needs to leave the Public Service Committee with a favorable report by May 8th. Time is running out, and we need to put pressure on legislators. On May 8th, we will construct an enormous inflatable globe surrounded by black balloons symbolizing carbon dioxide in order to attract attention to the urgent need to take action on climate change. After finishing the CO2 cloud, we’ll perform the Song for the Climate (watch it — you’ll love it!). Then we’ll go into the State House and deliver flowers to supportive legislators and alarm clocks to uncommitted ones. Join us for our most visually dramatic rally so far! RSVP and invite your friends here.
