Are you interested in how other Tufts faculty are engaging students? If so, join your colleagues to learn about technologies that facilitate social annotation, multi-media engagement, case-based teaching, and more. In this “sampler” panel discussion, you’ll get a quick introduction from faculty members who each use one of these four tools—EasyGenerator, Visual Classrooms, VoiceThread and Bongo—and discuss possibilities for engagement and learning.
VoiceThread bridges the gaps in social presence typically found in online courses. In this workshop, educators will learn how to establish a social presence and connect with their students using VoiceThread to improve course satisfaction and student learning. We will cover all of the basic VoiceThread features, demonstrate how everything works in Canvas, showcase a variety of examples from actual courses, and have an open Q&A throughout the training.

Would you like your students to create a video presentation, demonstrate a hands-on skill with video, or submit any type of video assignment at all? And then efficiently grade it in Canvas? Even in a big class? Bongo is a Canvas-integrated tool which lets you make video assignments in fewer steps, and includes a built-in video recorder, file upload capability, and an automatic integration with the Canvas Gradebook. Bongo assignments are great for having students share different types of video content. In this workshop we’ll consider pedagogical approaches to using video for learning, and offer a demonstration of Bongo assignments in a Canvas course.
