Overview:
This week we begin to delve deeper into the background and significance of cultured meat, touching upon the differences between conventional animal agriculture and several alternatives that are currently being pursued. Within cellular agriculture, we discuss cellular and acellular approaches, as well as major technical barriers in the field. We also hold an in class debate to have students critically think about difficult but important questions regarding in vitro meat.
