Third Annual Summer Institute

The Center for Shelter Dogs held their 3rd Summer Institute on June 6-10, 2011 at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. The Summer Institute provides unique and valuable dog-focused hands-on training for animal care professionals involved in dog intake, behavior evaluation, training, behavior modification, enrichment and adoption.

This year’s seminar was broken out into two sessions. The first session was dedicated to Match-Up II Online, where students learned how to conduct the multi-part system online including the behavior evaluation. The second session was dedicated to behavior modification and enrichment for dogs.

Until this year, the furthest “international” attendees to the Center for Shelter Dogs’ Summer Institutes hailed from Canada. However, this year’s program included attendees from Queensland, Australia, as well as Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts.
