Classroom Technology

The Experimental College works to accommodate the teaching needs of all visiting lecturers so that you and your students can have the best possible learning experience. Almost all classrooms are equipped with audiovisual technology, but this equipment is shared by many different instructors.

Most classrooms include the following equipment set-up:

  • Sound system
  • Projector
  • DVD player
  • BluRay player
  • Built-in Computer
  • Ports for a Laptop

For a complete listing of technology in all classrooms, please click here. You will need your Tufts username (UTLN) and password to log in. If your assigned room does not have the necessary equipment for you to carry out your lessons, please get in touch with the ExCollege staff as soon as possible.

Note: If you intend to use your personal Macbook or other Apple product, you may need an adapter. The ExCollege has Mac/USB-C adapters for loan. Contact our staff at least 48 hours in advance in order to ensure you have an adaptor for your class.

If you get to your class and have tech difficulties, please do the following:

  • Call Tufts Technology Services (TTS) at 617-627-3376 to report the issue. The TTS team can page an on-call technician to help you. This can take anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Follow up with our team about the problem at excollege@tufts.edu.

Finally, if you anticipate having trouble navigating classroom equipment, contact Tufts Educational Technology Services and schedule with a technician to be at your class. They can give you a tutorial and get you started. Ideally, give Ed Tech at least two weeks notice.
