Stephen Ambore currently Heads the Digital Financial Services (DFS) unit in the Financial Inclusion Secretariat in Nigeria, where he is responsible for working with stakeholders to develop and implement policies that will strengthen existing DFS platforms or deploy newly designed platforms or components to enable digital financial services to drive financial inclusion in Nigeria. Prior to taking up his current role, Stephen worked in various roles in Information Technology and has led the implementation of various IT Projects and Programs. While in IT, Stephen led the deployment of the Disaster Recovery Initiative for the Central Bank of Nigeria and he was the Program Manager for the bank’s Cybersecurity Program. Stephen has developed and implemented IT strategy and is also part of the team that developed the current Nigerian Financial Inclusion Strategy. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Computer Science, in addition to various executive certificates and professional certifications.
