Ms. Sadef recently changed departments from the Agriculture Credit and Microfinance Department where she worked as a Development Finance sector specialist/policy analyst as Deputy Director in the State Bank of Pakistan. Her primary responsibilities have included management of social sector development projects, monitoring and evaluation of international donor funded projects, research and analysis, strategy formulation, regulatory framework and policy development, statistical data evaluation and report writing. She has in-depth experience in small and medium enterprise, public sector, and agriculture and microfinance sectors development. She has a thorough understanding of planning, implementation and regulatory frame works of international donor funded projects such as DFID, World Bank, ADB and UK AID and has worked with leading international experts from these agencies in this regard. Ms. Sadef possesses extensive research and analytical abilities with excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills. In her most recent role, her responsibilities included to develop, design and execute the monitoring and evaluation framework for NFIS in collaboration with the World Bank’s team; collect data to monitor progress on actions taken under NFIS to detect any shortfalls in performance and identification of the reasons thereof; monitor the progress of NFIS strategy through key financial inclusion indicators and the targets set for priority financial inclusion goals; review existing legal, policy and regulatory framework for microfinance banks; recommend required interventions for facilitating reforms in the microfinance sector to broaden financial access to poor and low income people; prepare periodic analytical reviews on ongoing policy developments and institutions to suggest corrective measures; monitor implementation of various international donor funded programs; and study and research best practices in microfinance sector worldwide.
