Nkem Clare Chime is a Senior Manager in the Strategy Coordination Office Financial Inclusion Delivery Unit of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). She is responsible for anchoring, engaging, coordinating, assessing, and reporting progress on the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS). The role also involves engagement with diverse stakeholders across the public, private and development sectors.
Financial inclusion is a focal policy area and embedded in the work at the Bank. The Financial Inclusion Delivery Unit works closely with cross-functional stakeholders and coordinates stakeholder activities aimed to increase financial inclusion. In 2022, Nkem was a committee member of the International Financial Inclusion Conference under the Leadership of the Deputy Governor, Financial System Stability of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The Conference brought together 5,000 participants from over 78 countries worldwide and featured the launch of key policy documents such as the National Financial Inclusion Strategy 3.0, Leveraging Agents Networks for Women’s Financial Inclusion, National Fintech Strategy and Payments System Vision 2025.
Nkem holds a BA (Hons) Business Administration degree from the University of Kent, UK and a MA Human Resources Management degree from the University of Hertfordshire. She is passionate about financial inclusion to address issues and challenges affecting the most vulnerable segment of the population.
