Ms. Allison Middleton was appointed Media and Public Relations Specialist at the Central Bank of The Bahamas in February 2019; she is the longest-serving project management team member. By virtue of this appointment, she acts as The Bahamas’ Digital Currency (SandDollar) Communication Lead and promotes other Central Bank public-facing initiatives.
Before this transition to the communication field, Allison worked in various capacities in the Central Bank’s Information Technology (IT) Department since joining in 2006, as Programmer, Sr. System Administrator, and Sr. Records Officer. A seasoned and versatile IT specialist, her 25-year career in IT began in the early 1990s when she quickly established herself as an application support and training authority in The Bahamas.
She holds an honors degree in Software Engineering from the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona, and a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from Purdue University’s West Lafayette, Indiana campus.
Allison is an avid enthusiast of the benefits of mentorship and firmly believes in the innate potential of all. Her favorite quote is by motivational speaker Les Brown, “Life is a journey, often difficult and sometimes incredibly cruel, but we are well equipped for it if only we tap into our talents and gifts and allow them to blossom.”
