April 2018 FWN Newsletter

Dear Fletcher Women,

Warm greetings from the Fletcher Women’s Network! We plan to reach out to our broad membership several times a year to keep you abreast of FWN news and encourage your participation and involvement in our events, activities, and major initiatives.

Since our new leadership group formed at the end of 2017, we have been “storming and norming:” getting to know one another, determining who is responsible for what, how to hold efficient meetings involving women who live all over the world, and sorting out other logistics. We now have four standing committees up and running, as well as an Executive Committee that meets monthly to assure coordination and communication. Our attention and focus have now shifted to planning and implementation. By mid-year, we anticipate having a strategic plan in place that spells out some major initiatives for each of the four committees to undertake and see to fruition over the next two years.

In each of our updates, we plan to share with you one CALL TO ACTION, or more.

  1. Convene Fletcher women in your area.

A membership survey carried out in 2016 revealed that many of our members want to connect in person, for personal and professional development. Facilitating these local and regional gatherings is the role of our Local Groups Committee. Please let us know if you would like to convene a group of Fletcher women and/or form a local FWN chapter in your city, region or country. We would be happy to support you in that effort and help with ideas of how to get started. Send us a note at fletcheralumnae@gmail.com.

  1. Keep your contact information current in the Fletcher database.

Our communication with you depends largely on the alumni database managed by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR). Please go to the On Line Community and check to make sure your contact information is correct. E-mail is critical, but current location is key as well so we can tell you about local events. If you have problems, don’t hesitate to reach out to ODAR for help.

  1. Check out our online presence.

Take a look at our newly redesigned FWN website. Engage with Fletcher women around the world by posting jobs, events or other news on our Facebook and LinkedIn groups.

We would love to hear from you. Let us know if you’d like to play a role in our all-volunteer organization.

All the best,
