I can’t make it to your office hours. What should I do?

  • Please email Freeden to set up another time to meet. Or reach out to other members of the Support Team for assistance.

Where do I turn in my group’s assignment?

  • With the exception of videos, which you’ll submit on Vimeo; and the group contract, which you’ll submit in class; please send all assignments to Freeden as email attachments. Please be aware whether the assignment should be submitted as a Word document or as a PDF, and please use this nomenclature for the attachments: GroupNumber_AssignmentTitle e.g., Group4_ResearchAssignment

How will our videos be evaluated?

How do I format my citations?

  • We’ll use the American Sociological Association’s style guide. Check out the Tisch Research Guide for our class.

Do I need to turn in a bibliography with the storyboard?

  • Yes, you’ll turn in a preliminary bibliography with the storyboard and a final bibliography in the final digital story as part of the closing credits.

Will the rough cut be graded?

  • Submitting a full video accounts for 10% of your overall project grade. This is an opportunity for use Marc and Freeden’s comments to improve your story.

Can I use an image/sound that I found using Google?

  • Yes, if it has the proper licensing. You may use free domain images, with author attributions, without obtaining permission. However, not all copyrighted images/sounds are created equal and you need to follow-up by checking the specific permissions/licensing information. If you have questions, contact Dianne or Josh.
