Education Internship (Summer 2016)

Martha’s Vineyard Museum, Edgartown, MA

This energetic intern will work closely with the Education Director to design and deliver programs for school-aged children, their families, and teachers in schools and at Museum locations. Projects will include curriculum development with prototyping, lesson writing, and evaluations. In June the intern will be in schools with the Education Director, helping to coordinate and deliver museum curriculum on history, art and culture. In July and August the intern will help supervise Discovery Days – a summer program for children. Experience and interest in working with children is a must, as are excellent people skills when communicating with parents and caregivers. The intern should be a creative problem solver and be very comfortable with arts, crafts, and age appropriate design. Leadership experience with classroom management is a plus. The education department will be hiring two interns for summer 2016. Both are part-time internships requiring at least 20 hours per week. They will each be awarded a $1,500 stipend.
